All Species day in Montpelier May 6

On Sunday May 6th, Montpelier is home to a carnival of spring, joy, and all species! People come out of the hills to dress up as their favorite animal, plant or anything that fits into "species." A parade through the streets leads to a massive fertility ceremony on the state house lawn, complete with Bread and Puppet mother earth, dancing maidens in white, may pole and circle dancing and chanting. Its like nothing else. So got started on your species costume now and get ready to welcome the spring. Starts at noon in Hubbard Park soccer field.
Come the night before for the Perpetual E-motion Contra dance. Electric fiddle, guitar and loop peddles make this a one of a kind contra experience. I am happy to provide a place to sleep, we just finished fixing up a bug proof sleeping shelter.
